The Three Graces, goddesses of such things as charm, beauty, and creativity. They were usually considered the daughters of Zeus and Eurynome, though they were also said to be daughters of Dionysus and Aphrodite or of Helios and the naiad Aegle.

Homer wrote that they were part of the retinue of Aphrodite. The Charites were also associated with the underworld and the Eleusinian Mysteries. The river Cephissus near Delphi was sacred to them.

I think this is one of the most beautiful cameos I have come across, and though I loathe to sell it, I have no better use for it - so I might as well make someone else happy. It is meant to be a choker, with the cameo hanging from two chains. Yes, the cameo depicts three ladies dancing, and a brass bird (signifying nature) dangles at the top.

Originally, I wanted the birds to be displayed as though they are swooping down to lift the cameo up, but I realised the birds could not dangle the way I wanted them to. So in the end, I settled for one bird at the top. I changed the design completely from the initial idea, but I think this idea turned out better than the first.

The materials I used are just a cameo, a bird charm, and several black Swarovski crystals.
